What were these people like and how do they represent the time period and area of the country being studied in this project?
The Man at Eddie's bar (http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/manbar.html) was a man that cared about others. He felt the poor people needed to be treated better because they didn't have a lot to begin with and they were getting cheated out of what they had. He lived in New York, but he was from the south and he didn't consider himself a new yorker. This represents the area of the country being studied in this project because the blacks were not treated fairly in the south. Jim Cole (http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/jimcole.html) was a man who felt that segregation was bad because black people weren't allowed what they deserved. This represents the area of the country being studied in this project because segregation was going on in this area too. Mrs. Elizabeth E. Miller(http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/eliza.html) felt that she was very capable of herself as she was able to cut up a dead hog and bring it into her house all by herself. This represents the the area of the country because whites felt like they could do anything and felt like they were so much better than blacks. The Man at Colonial Park (http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/manpark.html) was a man that was mad that a lot of people weren't given equal opportunities in America. This represents the area of the country being studied in this project because blacks weren't given the same opportunites in America. Anna Nova(http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/wpaintro/anna.html) was a woman who did not like kissing up to people. This represents the area of the country being studied in this project because everyone had to work hard to survive.
